Diane Onorio, owner/director of 'The Core of Wellness - Boston North' is pleased to announce the opening of her new wellness center. The mission: To define the essence of wellness for all individuals. Diane brings over 15 years of teaching experience as dance educator, choreographer and fitness professional.
Diane holds a B.S. in Sport Movement Science from Salem State University. National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) certified, Diane has instructed group exercise for more than a decade to individuals of all ages, skill levels and abilities. She has been a practitioner of pilates for over 15 years and holds Specialty Certificate of Advanced Training in Pilates. Diane is a strong advocate of the pilates method as a facilitator of supporting the human body to function to its optimum level. As a teacher of pilates, Diane has observed the quality of wellness enhanced for many individuals in every facet of life.
She is choreographer to many local musical productions including Chorus Line, Annie, Godspell, Nunsense and many others. Diane holds certificate in dance education and degree in dance from Northern Essex. She was recognized for outstanding academic achievement and awarded Certificate of Honor for Excellence in Dance.
As a teacher of yoga for children, Diane holds certificate of training in yoga therapy for children with autism and special needs as she greatly recognizes the need for the expansion of these services.
Diane is a certified instructor in Wakefield and surrounding communities for GZSOBOL - Parkinson's Network where her goal is to provide the tools to improving and maintaining quality of life through specific exercise programs for individuals with Parkinson's. In recognizing the need for further work in health education programs. Diane plans to pursue a graduate program in the near future.
Gentle Flow Yoga
An all levels vinyasa class with a calming pace to allow time for additional guidance. Modifications are offered to give students the ability to choose a more beginner or more advanced practice. Gain strength and flexibility at your own speed and end each class with a guided meditation to relax and restore.
Danielle Onorio is a recent graduate of Emerson College, where she earned her B.S. degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders. Danielle now works as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the Saugus Public Schools, where she works with preschool children with a variety of disorders including speech and language delay, developmental disorders, deaf or hard of hearing students, and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Her next step is furthering her education by earning her Masters degree in Speech Pathology. Danielle has been an avid and competitive dancer since the age of 3 and has taught creative movement and choreography workshops to children of all ages. Danielle completed her certification in Creative Relaxation Yoga Therapy, a program designed for children with autism and special needs. She is an advocate of using the arts as a restorative method and has combined her love of movement, yoga, and working with children to foster social interaction, therapeutic routines, opportunities for independence, and tools to be successful. In acknowledging the need for appropriate programming for this population, Danielle will be facilitating the presentation of Creative Relaxation: Yoga Therapy for Children on the Autism Spectrum and Special Needs at The Core of Wellness Boston North.
Michelle Zelikman MEd., RD, LDN is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian. She is also a certified Weight Management Coach. Michelle has a Bachelors of Science degree in Food And Nutrition with a minor in Biology. She also has a Masters Degree in Nutrition Education. Michelle has over twenty years of nutrition experience working in the clicinal setting at such great hospitals as Massachusetts Eye an Ear Infirmary, Spaulding Rehab Hospital and Dana Farber. She also has many years of experience working with weight loss clients through local gyms.
